BRIDGE - Ancient and Future travels with the listeners to the 2 parts of the world in the past, and 2 other parts out of this world in the future. It's a collection of 4 acoustic chamber music, 2 string quartets and 2 chamber orchestras from Jinghong Zhang. Half of these works speaks with a musical language of traditional, while the other half speaks futuristic-ally.
Tetrad-Phase paired with Burning Between Phases, Parallel-Phase paired with Bridging The Phases; the past paired with the future, the ancient voice "bridge" with the futuristic voice, just as the title of this album BRIDGE - Ancient and Future suggested. This one album of its kind with 2 orchestral works paired with 2 string quartets, is an album of the composer's TETRAD selection of the remix of the recordings of his chamber music works in the past few years. |

Drawn the inspirations of the creation myths from ancient civilization such as ancient Egypt, China and Greece, the album is a sonic and imaginary celebration of the conveyance of the concepts of these universal building blocks into the musical form based on composer's understanding of the subjects.
